Prob get more responses as a Request in Bargain Alerts (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=355) or in one of the Wanted fora (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=552)

The Zen Micro battery drains when the player is in "standby mode" ie turned off for up to 24 hours. It then goes into deep sleep and uses much less power.

Its a problem which has been discussed at length on Creative's message board - over 50 pages long last time I looked. You will get 12 hours continuous play once the battery has been charged a few times but who uses it in this manner?

I suspect many people use it for a short time while commuting or in the gym and then turn it off until the next day. This causes the battery to drain which Creative have at last admitted to and thankfully, they have promised to release a firmware update this month to significantly reduce the problem.

Keep a look out on the Creative forum for news of the upgrade:

You can get a second battery from Creative's Irish website for approx 40 euro.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your Miicro, its a fabulous player.

True indeed, but worth noting that virtually all battery claims are made on this premise, for better or worse.

So for 12 hours, read "a lot less" :)

I'm hopeful that the firmware fix will give me a week's use between charges, If so, I'll be happy.
