[BBAus] Opening Night

10-05-2005 10:19am#1BB Australia Season 5 got off to a great start on Sunday night. They've gone for a young bunch this year (ages between 18 and 29). There are 14 housemates (7 male, 7 female). Not a bad looking bunch of people too...
All housemates (bar 1) are single, and there are only 7 double beds and no single beds in the bedrooms...
We've been told that the house contains lots of secret rooms, corridors and features that will be revealed throughout the season.
The first 2 secrets are as follows:
1.A new take on BBUK's ever decreasing prizefund from last year. In BBAus this year, for every rule breakage, the prizefund ($1,000,000) will be decreased by $5,000. It doesn't seem much, but when you take into account that the rules were broken 17 times in 1 week last year, that week would have cost them $85,000. Multiply that by the 12 weeks in the show, and you'll realise there may be no money left for the winner.... The housemates don't know about this yet, either....Rules include simple things like forgetting to wear your microphone and crap nomination excuses, to serious things like violence and talking about nominations.
2.A copy of last years BBUSA twist where 2 identical twins were swapped in and out of the house at regular intervals. However unlike Adria and Natalie in BBUSA, these two are not allowed exchange notes before changing places. So the twin going in doesn't know what the other twin did while they were in the house. That includes what friends they've made, what enemies they've made, and even little things like what bed they sleep in. Should be fun! If they last 2 weeks without being discovered, both people will be allowed to live in the house at the same time. The twin in hiding is in their own little room which is hidden in the house (which contains fridge, microwave, shower etc.) - this room may very easily become a bedsit (like last years BBUK) later in the series...
