Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The time has come for me to upgrade my RAM.

    I currently have 2 x 256mb pc2700 sticks in my Acer Ferrari 3400.

I'm thinking of going for 768mb or maybe 1gb.

    My main question is:
Is there any RAM supplier that will accept a trade in/buy my old RAM?

I'm not too sure about what ram to get but it says in the manual it supports DDR SDRAM.

Sell it here. I'm selling two DDR RAM Sticks in "FS: Computer Hardware" at the moment.

What are the speeds?... like pc2700 is 166mhz, I presume pc3200 would be faster, yeah?

edit; also, what difference does brand name make? Corsair are recommended.

^^ reliability mostly better overclocks - up the voltage on higher quality ram without frying it as long as you don't go to high ;)
    And of course Lower latency's

If I had 1x1gb stick of 3200 and 1x256mb stick of 2700, would it work?
Would the 1gb stick be throttled down to keep at the same speed as the 256mb stick?

I should be fine - But remember the 3200 will be running at the same speed as the 2700.

Whats's the difference between DDR and DDR2? DDR2 is just faster is it?
Would DDR2 work instead of DDR?

If you run ddr 1 you can't run ddr 2 (need a different mobo/ram slots)
