Is this how you get down to the Nun's Strand by foot?

Yes, thats the way most go down. There used to be a rope at the end of that dotted-line, as an aid to balance on the way down, as the last part is a bit steep and slippy. Its quite tricky really, that last bit, and you need to be fit.

A word of caution: when the tide comes in, all those little inlets & bays are cut off from the way back out. Watch the tides!!

I thought so. I couldn't see any other way down there.

But that long straight grass and the smooth soles of my runners have always made me wary about going down. That would be a very nasty fall if I lost my footing.

The idea of making another trip back has been making itself felt way in the back of my mind. Maybe in the fall. And maybe I'll walk down to the Virgin Rock one day when the tide is all the way out.

    Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... a drone! Over Ballybunion!

Well, over the beach at Ballybunion.

The Cliff Walk at 2:45 looks especially good.

Where exactly is the Old Slip Road?

Can't say I've ever heard of it. It may just have been to fit the song.

I think you're right. I've been hearing about Ballybunion my entire life and I've never heard anyone ever mention the Old Slip Road.

Best drone video of the beach I've ever seen!

I can't remember seeing the Virgin Rock with no white water at its base.

Go to 8:30 and watch David Feherty and Bill Clinton talking about Killahenny and Ballybunion. (It lasts for only a minute or so.)

    That's the Nine Daughter's Hole at 4:00?

And the section before that is the part of cliffs below the Cliff Walk Fence?

Big gang thinking of heading to ballybunion, bout 20+ in a month or so. I see the golf hotel caters for those types of numbers but it gets shocking reviews on tripadvisor

Any other suggestions, not from area but with numbers like we have its better ring up than go online.

Yoire probably better off in Tralee, and then just bussing out to the course early in the morning.
Plenty to choose from in that case

The plan is to stay in Ballybunion to go out after Listowel Races, not going playing golf.

Try the Attic Bar. I stayed there a few times over the years. Tim Joe is grand.

    We've been unstickied?!?

In all fairness, traffic has dropped off noticeably. We used to get 100-110 views per day. but in the last year it's dropped down to 15-20 per day.

Boards isn't the place it used to be anymore, I hardly ever come on here now, and it used to be many times a day.

A third of a million views. Not bad for a village of 1300 people.
