skin mods and minimiser

Hi all,

I have 2 questions....

first, has anyone got the minimiser patch to work for them

second, can i download and use the skins pack and high definitions weapons pack and not have trouble logging on to servers....

i tried using the UO minimizer a while back, needless to say it didnt work and to be honest i kind of gave up on it as my only reason fr wanting to minimize was to use AIM. Then i discovered Xfire which works very well in game. Id still be interested in getting the minimizer to work im just to lazy to try it again

Does anyone have the problem when lets say in the game and you hit the windows key by mistake and your toolbar pops up....then when you go back to CoD it is darker.....I have to disconnect then and reconnect to get CoD to look ok again>.....mite be a known problem!

i hit the windows key by accident on a regular basis but ive never had problems with a darkened screen, what gfx card are you using nelly, have you the latest drivers?

Excalibur Radeon 9800PRO

Dont have a problem in any other games which is why I think it is strange.....even on single player if I change to another program and change back I have to close down and open again or it darkens the whole view in Cod...nothing would be wrong if I flick back into window.....havent a clue wat drivers I have

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Activision's Technical Support. I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I will try as best as I can to help you. This is basically how Windows and the game work. When you run the game, it increases your video card's gamma at the start. When you interrupt the key with the Windows button, your video card is reset to the default gamma to bring up the start menu. When you get back to the game, it still has the lower gamma. You should go back to the options menu and adjust the brightness and it will become bright again.

So I'm assuming it's an ATI card problem and there is no long-term solution. So, as said, the "options" in the game can be adjusted slightly. OR quit the game and restart. OR the Alt-Enter key combo (to try).

I have same problem nelly, i just go into options and adjust the brightness slightly, fixes it without closing cod.

In game (Multiplayer) just input following in "pop-down console": /r_gamma 1.0

This will change gamma (brightness) to 1.0 which is the default level. If you're used to playing with more brightness, just insert command again but with value 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc until you are happy!

Here's the minimizer i use

Defaut keys are Ctrl+z to min and Ctrl + shift + z to restore but these can be changed easily. very very handy

Not only will it work for COD, but it will work for nearly every game with the q3 engine

I also have a 9800pro and the same brightness problem and as stated above i just go into options and click on the brightness level button and move it slightly and then back again , it works and no reconnecting required .

Of course having a ping that allows online games would help alot !!!!!!!!!!!

Usually have a ping of 60-100 max on most UK and Ireland servers so flying

Will try both options above....cheers guy! was such a pain in the behind when having to reconnect to servers!

thats great ! works fine I've to turn off MSN while playing COD as the popup fecks with the colour too I'm on a 9600 pro Radeon

I saw that happen on my PC with the ATI card must be an ATI thing.

any thoughts on the skins question people.....dont want to risk it without some input from you guys.

If a server is running in unpure mode you can use custom skins,models sounds etc.
If a server is running pure you may not be able to join and if you do get to join more than likely punkbuster will kick you.
As far as i know sounds may be ok but skins would be dodgy.
Having said that you can filter unpure servers using all seeing eye but there arent a huge amount unpure compared to pure.

Thanks m8, just though running around Camouflaged as a tree or haystack would be a good idea.....damn pure servers

This minimizer works a treat for me as well.
