As a er "systems error" banjaxed the first two threads I'd thought it best to try again, this time with a more helpful parametre - how many kilometres per month (yes we've gone metric).

How many kilometres per month do drive? And where? And why? And is it urban or not? And anything else you might want to add (thanks Balfa!)

    I've deleted the other threads.

    Mike.

    Nice one :D

About 1100km/mth for me at the moment. I'm blessed with a short 7km commute: 4 times a day - home for lunch :)

had to goto Google to convert miles

    aprox 3200km per month

whoops. now you've gone and broken it. 4000km isn't enough. there should be a broader range, with the top option being >8000km. Now the poll is going to have too many "over 4000km" because it's too low a threshold.

But thanks for deleting the others :)

3000-3500km. Isn't it amazing having to drive so much in a our little windy rainy rock in the ocean :D

18000 miles per year is 1500 per month
That is 2414 KM's per month

I drive Sallins to Clondalkin Daily.
Then do a lot of driving locally to her folks and my folks, (both around 30 Km round trips).
Also, if ever heading away with anyone, weekends etc, I have to drive, as i hate being a passanger...

Would have selected 2500-3000 if it was there, so i selected 2000-2500 instead.

Arghhhhh.... I taught this was in miles. Stupid metric system.
    Picked wrong option
Should have checked 4000+ instead of 3500-4000

I've done 25,000 miles in the past YEAR... and im only a Leaving Cert student!

500-1000km mostly urban/m50 driving with the odd trip down to Wexford and a few other places at weekends

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,709 ✭✭✭Balfa

Whoops. 3700km a month for me, though i chose >4000km by accident! No wonder i'm thinking there'll be a disproportionate number of >4000km :)

Anyway, that's driving around Dallas' sprawling suburbs (if you think Dublin suffers from "urban sprawl", you ain't seen nothing). Probably 50/50 highway to urban, but urban here is a little smoother than there.

The wife works 32km east of here, and goes to college 32km northwest of here, so the car gets a fair bit put on it.

I don't drive, yet, but on my parents cars there is around 50KM put on daily, and then races every second weekend adds on a good bit, some are 500KM round trips so 1500 - 2000 seemed about right
