Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Tax Office

Right I've called the Tax Office every day this week on their 1890 number because I'm on emergency tax at the moment. Every single time I've called I get an automated 'Please call again later' reply, And I've tried at all different times. Do government offices just not open in this country or something?

So I tried their O'Connell Street offices direct, go through immediately to a woman who kindly informed me PAYE had nothing to do with her and go away and ring the 1890 number. I explained that that wasn't working but she didn't particularly care and hung up on me. Anyone been in touch with the tax office recently and had similar difficulties?

the office is now in beside Burger king , expect a 45min + wait to get a ticket ! to join the Q , I reckon 5% or less in the Q were Irish . The staff were very rude in there with non nationals due to the workload , its justice really for the Government staff ...they actually have to work now for paycheck !

The helpline is a joke also , call one of the other districts and tell them you can ge through to your own district and that the supervisor in O'Connell street told you to do this .

Isn't that the very reason they are encouraging peoploe to use the internet service? But I know if it's a non-standard case it can be annoying. I'd try writing a letter, always seems to bring results, albeit sometimes after months of waiting.
