Is there a limit on how long your ncb is valid for. ie if you stop driving with two years ncb and start driving again 3 years later. is your ncb still valid?

No sure on this, it may depend on the insurance company.

Depends on the insurance company. Some say two, some say three.

If you are in a one car household it can be worth being taking turns being the insured driver and the named one. That way neither looses the NCB or insurance history.

Some companys won't offer you cover if you have not had your own policy in the last 6 months!
