Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Question about Mould

    Hi,

I am getting a small patch of white mould on a wall in downstairs room. The house is turn of last century and I think there might be a slight damp spot on the wall. The patch is a about 2 feet from the floor and rubs off with a dry cloth however it grows right back. The wall is plastered and painted and the mould grows in a shaded spot on the wall.

Anybody got any ideas on what to do.

    T.

    Hi Kipple,

I wonder if you can tell is it mould or a fungus ?

I don't want to cause alarm but if it is a fungus I would have it attended to ASAP, what you could be looking at is the begining of dry rot, it may not be the beginning just the point where you can see it.

Not to be taken lightly especially in old buildings.

    Hi,

Are you sure its mould growth, a white substance that wipes off and then reappears, sounds like salt effervessence. This appears on some old types of plaster that are affected by condensation / moisture. How big is the patch, and how long after the patch is cleaned off, does it re appear.

    kadman :)
