Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is probably something totally different, but I had a similar problem a while back, I don't have the model of my boiler. It was a gas boiler. I have a boiler in the kitchen where the level of heat is set from, there was a small rubber thing that could be screwed out. It had become very wet, I just had to remove it and dry it off. The gas was on, I could see the flame in the boiler, just the radiators weren't getting heated.

    Any pics?

Dont fancy opening it unless its a water related thing and not gas pipe.

I'm no expert but I think you blow out the pilot light and disconnect any electric starter . Put up the boiler as high as pssible and once you smell gas in the room furthest from the boiler light a match :D

It's probably the water pump. Have you noticed a difference in sound? If the problem is around the boiler you are best getting a plumber as he will find a nd fix the problem a lot quicker than you could idtentify it

I have the same problem and was about to post it. The boiler is in a new house, less than a year old. I had to switch off the electricity on Sat. to do some light switches upstairs and since then the radiators are not heating up, but the water is. Could it be possible that switching off the elec. caused this or is it just coincidence, would anyone know before I call someone out?
    Thanks

Now that really does sound like the pump . Sometimes there is a trip switch on the pump or similar that turning off the power can trip. There might also be a restart procedure after power cuts. This may sound a bit obvious and condesending but have you checked the manual? :o My boiler has a restart prcedure that took me a while to figure out

A lot of boilers especially new systems have electronic valves as part of the system, these may not be connected diectly to the boiler but along the system usuall in the hot press.

The settings on the valve may have been disturbed or the valve jammed, I suggest you have your system inspected by a qualified plumber / heating specialist who can guide you through what are often simple adjustments designed to make your system efficient.

Thanks for the help. I am sure that there was a manual left by the builder, I didn't bother with it as I would usually not mess with gas. I will see if there is a way to restart it, saving me calling in the experts.

Nearly sure its the pump its making weird noises and shoots water out the blowhole when i change the settings on it (it has 3 ) just makes a weird noise, heating is on and working just no heat being transfered to rads.

Havent rang plumber not pay day yet :(

A room themostat could be turned down that is controlling a motorized valve.

Check the room stat's and motorized valves (usually found in the hot press). The valves have a manual lever to open and close them. You can usually lock them in the open position. Some have a red light that lets you know if they are getting power (not necessarily that they are working).

Thanks all, I got the heating working. Found the manual and there was a reset procedure by turning the control dial on the boiler fully anti-clockwise and holding for a few seconds. A few minutes later the radiators started to heat up.
