Peter steele of type o negative dead??

Just wondering if anyone else heard this, the official type o site has been replaced with a single page saying 'PETER STEELE - FREE AT LAST - 1967 - 2005' written on a tombstone. It sounds to me like typical type o tongue in cheek humour, but just wondering if anyone else had heard anything about this?

I think this is true. One of the posters at Metal Ireland posted Evan Seinfeld's tribute to Pete.

I'm absolutely ****ing gutted if this is true.:( RIP Pete, you've done more living than most people!

It seems like this is true. I can't believe it.
Type O are my fave band and I never got to see them play live.:(

Apparently some TV show host confirmed it through the guitarist. Absolutely terrible news if it's true, such a loss.

I dunno, they originally did this in '05 then we got Dead Again two years later and, going by previous releases, Type O are due to release another LP in the next year or two.

I'm gonna stay in denial for a while.
