I used to love EVA, .hack//SIGN, Ranma 1/2, DNA2, Rahxephon, Macross Zero
Can anyone recommend some new stuff for me to get?

I second this. Bleach and Naruto are both a must also. I'd advise you to check out Scryed aswell. It's not one that get's a mention very often but I think it rocks with a class story/characters and lot's of action/wtfness.
