Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In keeping with the other thread about the top 3 managers of the season... Everyone's tip for the top has done it... Well done David Moyes.. The moyesiah :D

Moyes named manager of the year
David Moyes has rounded off a memorable season by winning the League Managers' Association manager of the year award.

He guided Everton to fourth place in the Premiership this season, which also means a place in the Champions League.

"At the start of the season I wondered, 'How can we avoid relegation?' Then we lost Wayne Rooney to Manchester United," said 42-year-old Moyes.

"A year ago I was relieved to have escaped relegation. It is amazing how football can turn around."

The LMA award can go to a manager from any division who was "deemed to have achieved the most - taking into consideration the resources available to him".

After struggling in 2003-04, Everton turned into a tougher proposition when Rooney was sold for £27m last August.

Moyes only had a limited amount of that money to spend, initially bringing in Tim Cahill from Everton and Marcus Bent.

Midway through the season, Everton's form dipped following the sale of Thomas Gravesen to Real Madrid but they showed admirable spirit to finish above local rivals Liverpool - and in a Champions League qualification position.

Be interesting to see if he can keep it up next season when they've lost their underdog status or if they'll just go the way of Ipswich.

Fair play to him, he's done a great job with limited resources.

How many managers awards are there out of interest?

Nice that everyone can get one.

The one that moyes won was voted for by all managers in the football league. It is the 'official' and most prestegious award for a manager.

tbh i think that it holds more value as he was voted by his peers

well deserved .. he used all his resources to the limits and histeam exceeded any expectations that were on them , job well done and just hope that he gets something to back his squad up with in the as it showed that if everton wanna play a second string squad they get bet 7 nill ;) i know the match meant noting but NO player wants to lose like that very humilating :)

Hopefully Moyes will get in a few (left back, left mid, maybe centre back). We finished really badly for the 3rd season in a row, i hope that improves!

    oh, and gwan moyesey.

Well deserved. It will be interesting to see how he improves the squad in the summer as he must have a decent budget to spend.
