    Same here.

Seems to happen every month or so.... it'll take a day or two for them to get up off their arses and go and fix the fault.

Can everyone who is experiencing the problem *please* email IOL to report it or they will just ignore it. It's been going on for about a week now

I've just gone on to htp://btireland.ie/help

I don't believe it. That site is just ridiculous. When I typed up my entire complaint, it asked for my email address. When I input this it said my addres was already on their db and to correct the error. When I hit the back button, lo and behold, the page timed out and I lost muy complaint. Even worse when I went to request my password for my account, it tells me that my email address is not on their db.. WTF!!!

attach pings and trace routes where applicable

Just sent in my complaint. I'd encourage everyone to do a ping test every night and send it in each night until it gets better

    ping 192.111.39.1 -n 1000 >> C:\IOLNStest.txt

    Attach to email and send.

It's not rocket science it's a simple fact..

During the day people are out of their house's when they return they start to download, that coupled with esat giving you all 2meg lines when the residential users have a **** contention ratio as it is and the backhaul can't handle all the data means that the speed is not evenly spread out hence some of you experience **** speeds :D

Now when all the kids who are mad for the pron download/warez/bit torrent settle down to bed and log off the speeds return :D

    Simple as :D

Then why do people on this service get decent pings for most of the year without problems ?

Every month or so, things go to complete ****e for a couple of days - people complain, send in tracerts etc. (showing timeouts and problems with esat routers) and then they get fixed.

The problem with IOL/EsatBT/BTIreland is that they don't appear to monitor for faults, or if they see a fault they won't fix it until at lesat 5 or so customers complain. There is no proactivity with their approach to customer support - not to mention the fact their support contact emails are hidden away - the last email I sent to the obvious "customer.care@btireland.ie" reporting a fault and expressing my dissatifaction - had them emailing me back saying they were cancelling my BB service as requested, which I had not done....

    Oh shut up

If you're "man enough" to complain on boards.ie just get up off your ass and complain TO YOUR ISP about your bad service.

    Jesus christ
