bridge problems

    ok i have a linksys wrt54g wireless router and a zyxel prestige 600 modem.when i set my modem up as routing and my router up for dhcp it works fine but i need my router to do PPPoE and verify username and password so i set my modem up as a bridge but when i do this i cant see the modem or ping it or go to log on screen so i have to go and reset it just to go onto it again.anyone know what to do,i used to have it set up like this and it worked fine.any help will be appreciated.
