    Hi Lads

I was messing about overclocking my 6800 Ultra while playing CS:Source. I pushed the card a little too far and my machine hung. I automatically rebooted the machine but am now having problems playing any game from Steam.

When I attempt to load any game I get the message:

"Please wait while Steam verifies game files" along with a progress bar.

A dialogue box then appears straight away with the following message:

"The Steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request.
Please try again in a few minutes."

This has been happening since late yesterday evening and its obviously drivingme insane.

I have validated both HL2 and CS:S manually using the following commmads:

    steam://validate/240
    steam://validate/220

No errors are returned at all and same message comes up when I attempt to play eithe game after.

I have a legit copy before anyone suggests.. And don't turn the thread into a bitch fest about Steam please.

    Thanks.

Last options is obviously to delete the local content and download it all again :(

deleting the clientregistry.blob and restarting steam fixes a lot of problems

Yup same problem with a different message, i.e.

"This can not be done while in Offline mode"..

Will try angelofdeaths solution first :)

Move your Steamapps directory else where, uninstall, reinstall, start steam up, log in, quit, copy the Steamapps directory back and try it?
