Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Problem with wireless or laptop?

Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this problem. I recently got a wireless router for my house so i could use the laptop in my room.

Internet Connection is fine up in my room (2 floors up in the attic) but the closer i get to the actually router the worse it is. If i'm right beside the router (which sometimes i have to be to print things) I can't get a signal or else It keeps disconnecting.

Don't know if its a problem with the laptop or with my router.

Oh by the way when I'm close to the router it will say "excellent" but will only have a speed of about 12mbps at sometimes only 1mbps while up in my room though its "good" and has a speed of 56 mbps.

Weird problem, and I honestly don't have any idea of what the problem could be :)

Only light I can shed is that these "excellent, good, poor" signal indicators arent great...

try using one type of connection speed ( whatever the lowest device is ) Wifi B or G and lock the laptop and router to this.
