Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Everton apparently have a lot of money to spend, unexpected money.
Besides the 14 mill or whatever for the CL, which they really want to ensure they get into, they have an extra 7 mill in premiership places for finishing 14 places ahead of where they did last year.

I think Moyes is just lazy, why traipse all around europe when you can pop down to london and buy all Chelskis surplus!

I don't know if we can afford to buy Parker AND Forsell AND Cudicini, and I hope we get a solid centre back before the end of the summer.

£20 available to Moyes this summer

    3.5m - Davies
    6 - Parker
    4 - Forsell
....leaves another 6.5, i'm sure a centre back is a priority too

    yes, but no.

Moyes TOTAL transfer kitty is 20-30mil, but that includes wages. so depending on the length of contract, and signing on fees, getting those 3 players could take a lot more out of the kitty than just the transfer fees.

excerpt from interview with Big Wyness, the Chief Exec: http://www.bluekipper.com/mbe/bigman%20wyness.htm
MBE: You were quoted in the local press as saying there was £30 million available for players. It was obvious to me what the context was but some people took advantage of journalist vagary to create a non-existent “controversy.” Would you care to set the record straight in unequivocal terms for the fans?

KW: The quote I think you’re referring to, I gave as an example. I said if there was £30 million it could be £12 million in transfer fees and £18 million in wages. That was an example if that was the number.

MBE: So £30 million is NOT the number?

KW: No, because at that time we didn’t know where we were going to finish in the league, we didn’t know what the TV money was going to be – I think that was back in March – so we couldn’t have had a number at that time. I was only giving an example of what it could have been.

MBE: Are you any nearer to knowing the actual number?

KW: Of course I know what the actual number is now.

MBE: Are you going to say what it is?

KW: I’m not going to give any exact numbers but we’re going to be in the region between £20 million and £30 million. That’s as much as I am going to say. It’s a healthy situation to be in and I think we’re all reasonably happy about it.

I don't see us getting cudicini either, if Chelsea were willing to sell, which i doubt, then Utd and Arsenal would be in like a flash to sign him.

Forsell practically a done deal it seems, jsut have to wait for international duty to finish before medical and signing on the dotted line. yay!

Parker would be a wonderful signing.

I remember when he was at charlton there was a staggering statistic to do with the number of games he was involved with and Charlton scoring compared to when he didnt play for them due to injury.

Forsell could also be a great signing for us he is an out and out finisher. something i dont believe we have had since having lineker for that glorious short spell. I could definetly see Forsell scoring 12-15 goals for us next season if we got him. (thats with the likes of parker and arteta in midfield).

BTW heres a question. Who was the last everton striker to score 15 goals or more in the one season?

It also looks like we have Ryan Taylor in the bag from Tranmere. He is a right back who is versitile in where he plays.

Priority should be a proper left back Pistone and Naysmith give no support or no confidence to the left side for us. Also Yobo will more than likely need a new partner next season.

If we get Parker and Forsell Id say Moysie will leave it at that for midfield and forwards and then have the rest of the summer on concentrating on getting in defenders.

Do we really need a new goalkeeper? Id reckon let Wright go and have Ruddy as number 2.

I heard today that he's going to be sent on loan to a Premiership club for next season - Rafa wants him to get first team football and evaluate the situation at the end of the season. No mention of Everton - two clubs were mentioned WBA and West Ham.

The Colombian keeper Mondragon (Galatasaray) was over for talks with Everton and Man City last week.

last striker to blag 15 goals....

we'll if yer a hard up blue nose, u know u will have to go back a bit.apart from the obvious liniker, who blagged a shed load of goals in the amazing 1985 1986 season, i think, but not 100% tony cottee would have got at least 15, after our 4million outlay in 1989.

cottee was my fav guy back them days, he was top quality, sent me an autographed pic and stuff.....huh:p
