Does anyone know what those big grey blinds are for in the library that they pull down at random every now and again???

couldnt tell ya, im just typing this coz im in the library too, im at the far end of the computers with the ipod headphones listening t osome godawful kasabian, time to change methinks......

LMFAO! they piss me off so much. i think they're to block out the sun. i always wonder when im on the pcs in the library if anyone sitting around me are the regulars on this forum

so do i , in fact many moons ago when i was first in UL and this board didnt exist, early october i reckon, i saw someone in the venus labs on boards (note to self stop looking at other peoples screens)

It's been a few years but if it's the roof blinds it's to block the sun.
They are automatic they come down when the sun comes out.

lol, i know. you know when your on those machines where your monitor is right next to the monitor of the pc beside you and ur waiting for the pc to log on, you just cant help but let you eyes wander onto the monitor of the pc next to u.

i remember one time i was on the first floor and i was sitting at a desk by the wall that looks out of the PC's and me and 2 lads were looking down and a fella below us was watching porn. but he had the IE window tiny and he'd look all around him before he expanded it and when someone walked past hed jump a mile and minimize it. hahaha, turned out a mate of one of the lads with me knew him so we rang him and got the number of the guy looking at the porn and rang him and said "we know what your doing you dirty dirty boy" LMFAO, the fella didnt have a clue what was going on.

he logged off the pc and ran away!! hahahaha, we've christened him Porn Monkey.

ah im gonna miss college lift... but not the workload. UL is such great craic. Although, theres 12 of us heading to Australia in October. cant wait for that!!

vikings party?? yeah i know a couple of them, jordi and coen and (kerry) john. sound bunch. well during the year i was wishing i never came to college because of they fyp but now that its over, sniff sniff, tis very sad. ill be around for the summer but then im off to australia. i think ill miss the lodge followed by superdine the most!!

glad u enjoyed ur bday, i hope joejoem stayed away from ur freaky ex housemate

yeah i got a job in Hertz car hire in the airport. the money is really good. we're heading to thailand, then sydney for a few months. then we're gonna travel up the coast and then to brazil on the way home. i cant wait. have u been there? do you recommened anything?

awww, thats so sweet. im sure some drunken lout will pi$$ on it and put it out, as is the type of custom in the lodge. if your around monday its 4th year night, buy a drink get one free in the stables and last year they had a lock in in the lodge till 6 in the morning. everyone should go!!

yeah it should be great crack!! a lock in the lodge, if im in the lodge that long i may, just may have to throw something at the DJ for playing all the crappy songs. what other club plays rock the boat!!! the lodge - u gotta love it but u gotta hate it too

Is this an illegal-type lock in or are they actually getting a license for it? Jeez, ive never lasted more than 2 hours in the lodge without getting pissed off with it and having to leave. Think a 3rd year like me could gatecrash it?

its safe to come back into the library...the fire blinds are being repaired, so no more clicky-whizz-bang noises. i bet we'll kindof miss them...
