Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After watching the whole funeral thing on Raw I got pretty excited about this, i have to say that whole segment was very well done and i really enoyed it, the ec-dub chants were class.

although after seeing teh ecw rules match afterwards (which was a big pile of sh!te) i'm still completley undecided on the thing, it'll either be great or a damp squib.

    Anyone else?

I have a feeling WWE's version of ECW will be a shadow of it's former self like their version of the NWO.

Yeah, kinda undecided about the whole thing myself.

Also Vince mentioned that he was like a silence partner for ECW which i wonder if it was ture or not, i was shocked anyway.

I know he let Taz wrestle there despite being under contract to WWE.

As for the ppv like many im undecided until i actually see the thing. i really want it to come off well but cant help but think ill be disapointed

I thought it was well known that ECW owed WWE a good bit of money when they went bankrupt. And it was TNN that put them out of business!

If this ppv doesn't live up to expectations, the one Shane Douglas is organising more than likely will. Terry Funk said that he'll only work one event, and that will be Shane's one, because he says that he feels that that is where the true ECW fans will be, and the fans at the WWE ECW event will only be "wannabe ECW fans"

What vince said about his involvement was true. He wasn't involved in running ECW but certainly lent them a lot of money (the bit about him being one of their creditors when they went belly up was true, it was almost 600,000 dollars they owed him at the end i believe).
He allowed ECW to publicise their first ppv (during the ecw invasion of wwe, the first invasion that is) on wwe tv which was pretty unusual.
A lot of it was to do with the fact that vince didn't ever view ecw as competition and thought the advantages to wwe would outweigh those for ecw.
A lot of it is outlined in the 'rise and fall of ecw' dvd which is well worth checking out.

I think its hard to say how it will come off but you can only go by how the WWE have treated ECW legacy so far. they did a great job with the dvd, a really great job. Plus with it being the biggest selling WWE dvd of all time Vince recognizes that theres a following for the brand that can be capitalised financially and that will only come to frution if they keep ECW to its roots. Anyway i find the whole thing a heck of alot more interesting that the usual raw or smackdown monthly ppv. Too many ppvs latley in my opinion.

I have to agree there. I havnt really cared about the last few ppv's but ive been very interested in the ECW one for the last few months. And no advertising around it until recently.
