i'm going to get one of these 2 phones as an upgrade from vodafone.
any thoughts for one rather than the other?

I don't like the fact that the s700 can only take up to 128mb memory cards

    I do like the 3g

I do like the camera and flash on the v800

size isn't too much of an issue, as they are both pretty much the same size

    i've had SE phones for years, T28, T68, T610, Z600, etc etc, so the software/ui isn't a problem

any one got any comments either way?

(i can get the phone flashed to remove the branding in either case)

The V800 can be a little buggy, would certainly recommend getting the latest software version as soon as possible..

Battery life can drop significantly from using 3G, even just briefly.

is there a more recent version that is installed on the phones?
i had a look on EMMA II yesterday, and R1S025 seemed to be the only version available

I know that software on phones at launching is different to that available now. Dont have any idea on software versions though.

    Bring it back straight away
This is a fault on them
My wife got one in February and the next day it was gone. Brought it back to the shop and it was changed in 2 minutes ;)
