    Please excuse me if I have posted in the wrong place.

    Is there any way to set the default language to English?
    We live in France and the version we purchased is localised in French.
    My son, who is 11, does not yet have enough French to enjoy the game properly.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    No, I can't find any.
    In the setup.txt file there is an entry which sets the default language

    default=0x040c
    count=1
    key0=0x040c

    My copy runs in English and has the following entry in setup.txt:

    [Languages]
    Default=0x0009
    count=1
    key0=0x0009

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks, but no luck with that.
    It seemed to just change the language for Installshield.

    Hey Hagar,

    If you have no joy with changing it into English, I might have a spare copy of morrowind (in English!) lying around at home - got it with a video card but I already had the collectors edition. It ain't the GOTY version is the only thing. If you're interested, I'll have a look for it and if I find it - its yours. :D

    Hey Hagar,

    Good news! That was an easier find than I thought possible - I was intelligent for once and put it in my big old collectors edition box.

    The CDs are only in plastic slips - no box I presume because it came with the graphics card. I'd say the manual is on one of the cds. I'll stick 'em into some plastic cases and post them over to you tomorrow. Just PM me you addy etc.

    Hi, it seems you've fallen foul of the FRENCH GAMES CURSE!!

    Anyone who has lived in France probably has too!

    Basically the French were so afraid of their culture being diluted by Americanisation they passed laws to 'protect' their languages identity. That's why you might see huge billboards(in Metro stations, peut etre:)) with massive slogans in English(for Coke, or whatever) and a French translation somwhere off to the side:)

    But the worst part about it is that French games are only released in French(or any games I've heard of in France).

    Which is a pain in the nads, but hey, they're French what do ye expect:rolleyes::)

    @boogie_man: good on ye!!
