JVC DR-M10 Compatible dvd-r's?

Hey i just bought the JVC recordable dvd player mentioned above and am having trouble trying to find out what discs are compatible! It wont take my samsung pleomax dvd+r discs to record stuff on but it will play them if there is a movie on them, just wondering if anyone knows what discs i should buy or is there a way…
