Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper web sms gateway than clickatell for sending texts to Irish networks?
I tried O2 business but they didnt even reply to my mail.
I know there are scripts for O2 webtext but I need something proper for sending a large number of texts without limits.

    Thanks in advance.

Depends on what you’re looking for. The SMS market is all about volume - the overhead in selling and supporting a customer who wants 100,000 SMS is pretty much identical to that of a customer who wants 100 SMS; yet, understandably, the latter is not a viable business proposition. As such SMS providers will impose minimum purchase quotas, sliding price scales and even just refuse your business if you’re too small.

If you’re looking to do high volume (>50,000) then you should be able to get a better price. Otherwise your options are going to be limited where it comes to lower prices.

    Hi Corinthian,
Well I'm just investigating my options in order to evaluate the viability of a new application.
Can you name any other providers that I could try?
I understand the volume argument but aside from this I imagined that I would be able to get a better rate with an Irish provider that would restrict text to the Irish operators?
    Thanks for your help.

Have you tried mblox (www.mblox.co.uk). They support the irish networks.

You could try the operators directly. My own company could supply you with low cost SMS too, but it really depends upon your volume.

Heh. In a perfect World (or market) perhaps. It’s actually a lot cheaper to get your SMS from non-Irish network operators.

It's probably as right as Programming, Mobiles /PDAs or any other forum as the same people read them all.

Ever heard of a company called nitro web software. They have sms software that supports the 086/087 networks. www.nitrowebsoftware.com
