    Hi Folks,

I ordered a Sony/Ericsson k700i and it's still in the box. I'm afraid to take it out in case I made a bad choice. I ordered it from Vodafone's web site. I was told that I can't open the packaging if I want to return it.

I always prefer Nokia phones but I read better reviews about the k700i.

    Any recommendations?

    Yours truly,

    Dopey

If you don't you'll regret it.
I've always had Nokias but after I got a k700i I'll NEVER go back.
Only down side is the battery life.

    Folks,

Many thanks for the responses. I took your advice and freed the phone from the packaging. It is a very nice phone.

    Thanks again,

Almost the exact same situation that I am in...

My moto v300 is crap tbh. and im due an upgrade and its down to those two.
I know that I will Like the nokia but im not sure about the sony.

What is the OS like? Any random pauses etc? That drives me insane

Haven't noticed any pauses yet but I haven't used the phone in anger. I read a a lot of negative reviews about the battery life but apparently that has been resolved to some extent in the latest firmware.

The charge indicator hasn't moved since yesterday afternoon but it's been in standby mode all of that time.

First impressions are good. The user interface does seem to be pretty intuitive. That's very important to me. I am a pretty loyal Nokia customer but the majority of posts and reviews I read suggested the k700i over the Nokia 6230.

I read that some of the provider customisations (Vodafone in my case) introduced a lot of bugs and bad performance.

    Cheers,

    Dopey
