I was cooking a potato bake type thingy tonight but ended up with loads of left over potato slices due to a measuring error... anybody got any suggestions for something tasty to turn them into?

    Thanks,
    Rob

you could deep-fry them and have crisps or make potato rostis

Spanish Tortilla - very tasty, and can be eaten hot or cold.

    A Gratin Dauphinois type thing?

Rösti is a good idea, although you'd have to grate what you have, and that might be messy. Also, its ideally done with day-old boiled potatoes - but thats probably just a personal perference.

You could be boring and boil then mash 'em. Can do what you like after that...mix in some cheese and onion, cover in breadcrumbs and then bake...that sorta thing.

Or...lemme think....straight-forward fried potatoes is always an option. Bit o' rosemary and garlic thrown in...

You could do a gratin, but thats possibly what you did with your potato bake...

Or you could make some sorta stew, put it in a lasagne dish, and use the potato to make a cover, brush with a light oil, dust some salt and pepper, and then bake.

Or speaking of lasagne...you could make a lasagne variant, using the potato as an alternative to lasagne sheets.

Maybe some ideas in there? If not, then maybe if you hint at some direction - style, what else you have to use, etc.
