When i was in America last year and there was an advertisment on the TV for the Medicus!
Its a swing trainer....thats been apparently voted #1 swing trainer 7 years running!
Its a double hinged iron that when swung in the wrong way will fold the hinge and therefore be unable to finish the swing!
It makes you swing the club on the perfect plane or else you cant hit the ball!

Anyone know if its any good for improving your swing!
Perhaps GOLFER41......working in a top golf mag might have a view on this!

    Interested to get your opinions!

Here's links to the product im waffling on about! :D

Seems good but what if you make a mistake on the follow through and the thing snaps and clonks you in the head or worse somewhere a bit lower  not very pleasent I think you'll agree. The best golf aide I've ever seen and what I'd spend my money on if I had it would be this thing here http://www.explanar.com/Home/2005design/Landing.htm

The idea behind the medicus is that if you

    1) Swing the club back too fast the hinge will snap
    2) Try to start your downswing too fast (ie Jerk at the top) it wll snap
    3) If you hit the ground too hard it will snap
    4) And if you dont follow thru correctly it will snap too

Therefore you have to swing on a perfect or near perfect plane, with a smooth tempo to be able to hit the ball!

The device mentioned above looks like a good aid too!

Just looking at the price of the Explanar

Wanna be taking it seriously to buy it!.......least ya can practice any time....no charge of driving range balls nor a pro for lessons

The resistance thing for building up muscles seems to be a great idea too...IMO ;)
