tr7 leak

    dunno if anyone can help with this , tr7 sprung a leak it's the manifold to pump pipe. got new o rings and refitted still leaked. tried smearing o rings with gasket sealant and refitted still leaked. manual says use non drying gasket sealant. Can't get this anywhere noone has heard of it. anyone got any idea's.??

    By non-drying I assume they mean non hardening and there isn't anything better than either Loctite #2 or #6 depending on the application. If the orings are compressed, use #2 otherwise use #6

    Did you leave the last sealant time to set? Did you clean the sealing faces with alcohol-based solvent (silicone won't set if exposed to alcohol)

    Embarrarrased cough. Read the instructions with the sealant. It said leave for 24 hrs to cure. cleaned everything up, refitted and left overnight. everything water tight went on 250 mile drive all was ok no leaks. Thanks Inter never thought of curing time. :o
