    I would be extremely surprised if the McMahon group got where they are today, by giving away freebies.

    A 2x2 12 feet long would be around 1/3 cubic foot. Red deal is a bout 15-20 euros a foot. Tanalised timber is more expensive, so at an approx price of 5+ euros per piece, McMahons would/should be furious at over supply.

    Modern tf software is extremely accurate at material lists, so surplus materials should not occur.

    Your bad experience was probably down to poor design. Ill fitting panels, cutting on site, missing panels, are all signs of poor design. Experienced designers are as rare as hens teeth. It might interest you to know, up to recently they were still looking for both junior and senior designers.

    Stick building is an option, but you would need an experienced crew, and designer to achieve a good result. Are you looking at post and beam stickbuilding, or standard timberframe stick building on site.
