Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Slow ad-hoc network?

    Hi all,

Bit of a strange one here, ive done ad-hoc networks before but for some reason this is really slow, speeds are only around 5/7k a second...

Basically ive created a logical network with my wired and wireless network so that my wireless network can pull files from the server and have internet access. Now the internet access works fine for me cos im on isdn and the max is around 7k/sec anyway.

I basically have an ad-hoc network between my two laptops, with a network bridge on the laptop with wired access.

    Anyone any ideas?

Both Laptops are running XP Pro Service Pack 2.

The only thing i do notice is that on the laptop with internet access sometimes it wont say connected on the wireless icon or anything, but when it does say connected the speed on one laptop is different to another (example would be that one could be 11mbps and the other 5.5mbps however they are nowhere near those speeds) which i thought shouldnt happen because as far as i knew it has to sync at a certain speed ?

The adapter on the second laptop is a 802.11g and this laptop is currently set at 802.11b Only, this laptop also has the option for 54g Auto, Performance and LRS.

Anyone any ideas its probably something simple?
