If this is true, nintendo are geniuses...if they charge for the games...they are idiots.

Yeah that list is fake, theres supposed to be some mistakes in it etc.

A downloadable back catalouge is a nice bonus in my eyes, but only if its: a lot of games, no limit to the number of games you can download, and free.

gamesradar with the same story quoting famitsu says all nintendo first party titles pre-cube will be downloadable on day one for free :)

    http://gamesradar.msn.co.uk/news/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=36169&subsectionid=1587

Also, interestingly, their reader survey indicates that the most wanted console is the revolution...

    It's a konami game unfortunately.

This little bit of news has just sold me a revolution on release day.

    Super Metroid...*drool*

I am thoroughly impressed with Nintendo should this be true. They have persuaded me to get the revolution provided it can be afforded.

This in conjunction with FFIII on the DS has really upped their chance of getting my money.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 760 ✭✭✭TheAlmightyArse

Hang on. Some of those games (Kirby's Air Ride, Riqa and to the best of my knowledge, Cabbage and Catroots) were never actually released, or held over for the Cube. Hmmm. Beta versions, maybe? In that case, it's a shame Star Fox 2 isn't on that list. It's a bigger shame that I'm using the word "shame" after all that bloody terrific news, though. Yay!

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,258 ✭✭✭✭Rabies

This is great news. I was getting a Revolution anyway to this sweetens the deal.
    Well played Nintendo :D

ya big bunch of fanboys! your all reported :p

sounds impressive, but until nintendo actually say that they will be free i wont believe it

if it is true i may have to purchase my first nintendo console (not hand held) since the nes

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,581 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

I presume that the list for Europe will be different - Sin & Punishment and Animal Forest are two games that stand out as never having been translated into english, and it seems unlikely that they'll translate them now.

A great idea though. If a parent goes into a retailer and sees a console that comes with 100+ free games and it costs significantly less than the PS3/XBox360, they're gonna be swung.

I wonder would Sony follow suit with PSOne games on the PS3?

Playstation ISOs are much larger files unfortunetly.

Surely being so "anti" nintendo is worse than being a fanboy :p

Sony are quite keen on the idea of gaming-on-demand via broadband though, aren't they? The games wouldn't neccessarily be stored on the hard-drive, perhaps only your top 5 or 10 or whatever.

Unlikely, but it'd be nice to see.

i have never been a fan of nintendo (never owned one expect the handhelds) but this does look good! any ideas on what price it will be and release date? and this service is free right?...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,997 ✭✭✭jaggeh

of the few games i would play i would list dr mario, super mario world, f-zero and starfox.

I hope you are wrong. I'd love to play sin and punishment and also translated versions of the older fire emblem games.
