Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I have a Belkin F5D7630uk4a Router with builtin ADSL modem

    In the last couple of days when I ping the router I am getting very slow response times

    When I am surfing the net the connection times to the router are not staying steady is my connection been hacked or is due to the fact that I have a contention rate of 1/ 24 or there about

    Here are some of my ping times to my router

    C:\>ping 192.168.2.1

    Pinging 192.168.2.1 with 32 bytes of data:

    Request timed out.
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=63ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=461ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=464ms TTL=64

    Ping statistics for 192.168.2.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 63ms, Maximum = 464ms, Average = 329ms

    C:\>ping 192.168.2.1

    Pinging 192.168.2.1 with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=46ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.1: bytes=32 time=19ms TTL=64

    Ping statistics for 192.168.2.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 46ms, Average = 27ms

    Anyone any ideas why I am getting such slow response times,

    You may need to reboot/power cycle the router/modem. Slow pings reply maybe due to heavy traffic or overheating (very unlikely). Give it a go. :D

    Two PC's use the router, one is on the same floor as the router the one I am having a problem with is located in an upstairs room, the card is showing a signal of around 60 dBm and noise of around 65 dBm

    The ping times from the other machine are stable so it must be to do with the location of the pc, may try reinstalling the card just to rule it out

    re install the driver for it -

    I wouldn't say it is a router problem because downstairs your pings and connection are fine

    upstairs is the problem - whats up there - your nic -drivers and walls !

    start of with the nic reseat it and reinstall the driver for it

    can you change to a different channel? for instance to 11 on the router test it that way.

    also i could be a solid wall - concrete floor blocking it
