Dont clutter this thread up with chat please, it is there for a specific purpose, to list tattooists and piercers, if you want to chat then start a thread yourself.
Not angry with you just letting you know with you being new and wanting people to be friends, dont start out wrong :D

    Hi,
My boyfriend has a tattoo shop in Kathmandu, Nepal. I will be returning to Ireland soon, and would like to send him some new tattoo equipment, machine, needles, etc.
Any ideas where I can purchase such items in Dublin? Or is it necessary to order from overseas?
Any information will be much appreciated.
    best wishes,
    Louise

hi im thinking of getting a piercing on on the top of my ear, its like a bar thingy (technical term i know lol) across the top. whats the name of it and out of curiousity whats the pain like and healing time like? im not bothered about the pain or cost i just want to know what its like and called since im travelling from galway to get it done (i read Cleenas post on metalworks for piercings so am scared ****less to go there).

sounds like a scaffold to me...are you talking about one that goes through two sites on your ear? If so, healings about 6 months to a year. They can be tricky enough. Don't sleep on it, cos it'll delay healing and it'll hurt. Actually getting it pierced...um..my first one hurt, my second one didn't...I think people generally find them sore enough to get done though..but ya know, eacht to their own and all...!

I was going to correct you and say that it's called an industrial, but apparently here and in the UK they actually *do* call it a scaffold. Go figure. Any way, if you want to find more information on it, you can search for an industrial as an alternative name. My personal healing time was pretty quick - like 3-4 months, but I was pierced with 2 rings initially and got the barbell put in at 6 months. Pain is the same as getting any piercing in the cartilage of your upper ear, it's just that you get two at once. (The number of people I get asking me "Did that hurt?" is astounding. Even people with multiple cartilage piercings themselves!) Not really that bad, but hardly a picnic either. And if you are undecided as to which side you want to get done, think of which side you normally sleep on. You will quickly get used to waking up in the night as you accidentally roll over onto it.

Use the www.wildcat.co.uk website to see the piercing stuff.

    Hi all,

Right, I'm looking to find a Tattoo artist, so if this is the wrong place to post, could a mod be so kind as to move it.

OK then, His name is Angus Wall or Angus Walls and he used to have a place in Ennis, which has since closed. A mate of mine wants him for a tattoo. He was at the Tattoo convention in Cork in 2005.

If anyone knows how to get in contact with him, could you post or PM me?

    Thanks.

karen's just moved and opened up her own shop in Kinsale with her boyfriend Don, called 7Roses.
But she's not tattooing at the moment, she's due her baby around now.
I'm not sure is she gonna be continuing working a day in Midleton or not when she's back tattooing...I think she will be for regulars, but other then that she's based in Kinsale now.

Bren used to run a shop over the camera store at the corner of talbot/gardiner street. It's shut now - he was in Dragon Tattoo on Talbot Street the last time I heard.

If you're in town, I'd go to Zulu (Sean) for a good tat. If you're able, you could also check out Stigmata Tau (Mick and Cathal) in Swords, Co. Dublin. I'm in the middle of getting my 5th tattoo at the moment (a polynesian sleeve design) - it's being done in Stigmata Tau, and they're the best I've ever seen.

Angus was with Clowntown in Ennis for a bit, but as far as I know he's in Canada now...... maybe check with Andy in Clowntown.

Check out the new guy, Tony, in the Stevens Green Studio His portfolio is amazing. He's just come back from the US where he's worked for the last 17 years, so loads of experience.
If the voucher is transferable to the Abbey St. Studio the artists there are pretty good.
Had most of my tats done by TREVOR not sure if he is still there but he is TOP CLASS:cool:

Im looking for information on the healing process of my new tattoo.
I have it since friday and its started cracking already, between the cracks it looks very grey when it should be black, is this because its cracking prematurely?? Ive been using bephatene cream which is an antiseptic cream, three to four times a day.
    Any advice would be sound,

    Cheers
    Priest.

Sounds completely normal just keep rubbing the cream in and don't pick at it and should be fine in a few days

    HIya
I got my tattoo in Tattoo Zoo in Cork - was great. Was nervous cos of everyone telling me how much it'd hurt - one woman telling me it was worse then child birth - if thats childbirth I'm grand!! lol. Can't remember the guys name but he didn't exactly talk to me. Just got my starsign (a "M" for scorpio in stone effect with a scorpion tail) on my 20th birthday and want to get another one. I used savalon cream and it healed perfectly.

ponderosa - I'm looking for the exact same thing.. the lettering is going to be quite large on my rib cage.. it needs to be very precisely done because it has pretty swirls and stuff..
    Does anyone have any recommondations?

Is there any tattoo parlours in Northern Ireland? Preferably in Derry or Belfast? Good ones as well.

Don't think anyone told you any in Derry??

Tribal Ink is the best in Derry, guy called Dirt does the tattooing, a few of my friends get stuff done there and his work is always fantastic.
