That's the place in the rasta shop right? I don't know anyone who's been there but the fact that it's in the back of a shop would put me off.

Friend told me of a crazy tattooist in San Francisco who used kidnap business men in the early 80's and give them ridiculous tattoo's, scooby doo on the forehead etc, anyone know if this happened, same guy told me that he saw the ghost of a red rat in cashel 2 years ago so im not quite sure if its factual or not

Phil's an excellent artist. Seems to do a lot of big Polynesian, Celtic and Borneo type tribals and fantasy. What type of work are you thinking of having done?

Haven't been in but there is a Tattoo place on Station Street in Balbriggan. You could try there, they may have a piercing place too. If you are coming from the train it is on the right hand side a couple of doors up from the cleaners.

I dunno his work personally, but I still wonder what would make you choose them in general. I've never heard anything particularly good about them and never been too impressed with anything I've seen come out of there and I know a fair amount of underage people who've gotten tattooed there without being asked for parental consent, so that's not overly impressive either.
personally I'm a fan of the guys in tattoo zoo's work, especially Fergal's who I reckon would do a pretty good job on something like that.. Or I like the guys down in Holy Cow in Midleton aswell if you fancy travelling a few miles out of the city

Red Dragon are dodgy as hell (tattooing kids who are barely into their teens), and personally I've yet to see anything impressive come out of living ink.

Did you even go to Midleton? They were there 2 weeks ago! It's not hard to find the good tattoo artists in this city, you've been told who they are, now go find them, instead of posting the same reply over and over and waiting for people to spoonfeed you!

If ya did some homework on the forums here:

    Best Tattooist in Cork

Seriously Davey180 it's not hard to do a little homework, you seem to love the idea of getting this piece done, but not interested in trying to ensure that you get a decent job done of it unless someone steers you in the right direction.

And before you start giving off to people again, we've all been trying to give you advice, but you don't listen to it, ask the questions again, and that's what is annoying people...

errrr.... the street name would be main street Midleton, not really hard to miss to be honest, Midleton's not massive. But presuming they're in the same place they've been in for the last few years, they'd be at the very end of the town, the end that's opposite to the roundabout by tesco. Across from the baby walk park, there'll be two shops, in between them there'll be a door way with a stairs and holy cow is on the top floor. or there's ususally a sign outside on the street. .to make it even easier, if you're getting the bus to midleton from the city, it's the last stop on the main street, cross the road and your there. and it wouldnt be hard to find someone on the street who knows where it is, cos its the only place in midleton.

the reason you wont find them listed in the golden pages is cos they use a mobile for the shop, but i have no idea where i've thrown my phone and don't know it off hand

davey, where did you go? the only post i can see is the one where you said that you had been booked into red dragon and you were asking to make sure you had made the right choice...
im soory i have to ask this as im booked to have a tattoo due to be done by LEE in the RED DRAGON TATTOO in cork city in georges quay anyone know anything about them, also tell me which is the better tattooist

people got annoyed, because you have started several threads on this general topic already (i know it's a forum, but the general etiquette is to keep related topics to the one thread, to avoid general spammage), and then went ahead and booked with red dragon anyway, despite teh fact that nobody had recommended them.

everyone is getting a bit wound up about this, twould be nice to let it drop, and get back to business as usual :)

whats the best place for an eyebrow piercing?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 283 ✭✭popecatapetal

    The eyebrow:D

Seriously though, lots of places are good. Eyebrow is a tricky one to heal, so I'd suggest going to one of the top shops. They're listed in this thread, but they can be a bit tricky to find, so, if you're in Dublin:
Celestial Ring, Stephen's Green or Abbey Street, behind Jervis Centre
Snakebite, over Traffic on Abbey Street
Inkwell, beside the Voodoo Lounge, near Smithfield
Miss Fantasia's is supposed to pretty good, but I've heard the piercer can be a little intimidating. It's near George's Street Arcade, if you want to check it out.

Can't think of anymore at the moment, but have a look through the earlier pages of this thread if you're not a fan of any of these shops. Oh, and try to avoid George's Street Arcade:)

Guys, does any studio do UV tatts or is it a sorta specialised thing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

It's generally a bring-your-own-ink thing, and you'd have to talk to the tattoo artists about it to see if they are up for it. Plus you'd have to bring a UV lamp, so they can tell what they are doing properly.

whats the best place for an eyebrow piercing?

I would highly recommend Glen's Studio in Miss Fantasia's on South William Street. I got mine done in August 2001 and it is still perfect. No migration, infections, or any other problems. He seems to be the only one, from talking to other piercers, that bends the bar to prevent rejection, though that may have changed since last I enquired. Perhaps a lot more studios have followed suit, realising that creating a greater surface area for the piercing to press against under the skin allows for a higher chance of it lasting more than a year.

i was talking to mark in inkwell the other day actually, and he recommended i get a bent one, so as to prevent general irritation, so i'd guess glen isn't the only one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Le Rack

snakebite bend bars too, they use D-bars when piercing tragus with ring to give that a flat surface to heal with...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Gauge

That's true, they do that for a few piercings, I was pretty intrigued when Steve showed me the custom bent bar for my hood (not custom bent for me, but for that piercing in general)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Le Rack

    hood? is Gauge a chick?!
