Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Hope I have this in the correct forum.
I want to restrict the amount of CPU a process (Sophos) can use to prevent it from hogging the pc. I am running XP SP1 workstations.
Any ideas? I have searched the net but I can only find python scripts for Linux.

Don't think Windows is able to do this. Setting the priority lower might help, but if it's effecting your use ofthe computer it's probably a bit dodgy anyway.

Have you gone though all the normal and file exclusions ?
Do you scan network drives on both directions.
Are you using interchk on the server so that it just uses checksums.

And above all have you removed all other AV programs

Give sophos a call/email they are usually quite good.

    Thanks for the replies.
I have done all of the exclusions, don't scan network drives from the pcs etc. No other AV programs. This problem is only occurring on about 20 out of 650 pcs. I have called Sophos, their suggestion is to roll back to previous version of client, but I don't think that is the problem. Just wanted to see if I could reduce the CPU usage until I get it sorted.

    Thanks anyway!
