6230 is better. The 7260 is cooler, it's main downfall looks to be that it hasn't an inbuilt mp3 player, but I think it's a series 60 nokia, that means one can be got for it.

i would really recommend the 6230(6230i)it is much better than the 7260. i have used the 6230 for ages and its amazing and practical.

give it a try to believe it:D

The 6230 seems very dark whereas the 7260 is vibrant colours though lacking in facilities.

Really not sure.....Thinking hard, need to do upgrade today, hopefully.

The 7260 is not as "mainstream" as the 6230 and will not hold its value like the 6230 does, but if you are not planning on changing it soon, that won't be an issue
The other thing is, the 7260 is actually just a Series 40 phone like the 6230 also. It is not a series 60, so you will not be able to get Symbian apps for it.

The 7260 still only has a 128 * 128 screen and underneath the fancy cover, its a Nokia 3220, but with FM radio added.

Also, it does not have the sync functionality that the 6230 has and memory is very small allowing very limited additions to the phone, whereas the 6230 has more on-board memory and also has the mmc card slot, which allows you to use up to 1GB memory cards for MP3's etc.

The 7260 is more expensive than the 6230 and has a lot less features. The 7260 looks nice, that's what you're paying for.

The 6230 is Series 40 DP2 whereas the 7260 is Series 40 DP1. There are some notable differences, particularly in performance.

They are both actually Series 40 Version 2 and both are Java Midp 2.0

So looks aside, the 6230 is electronically better with more gadgets on it?

maybe i should go this way so.

Yes, the 6230 is better. Another thing that may or may not affect you, is that you can't get a car kit for the 7260. Or rather, you can't get a cradle for it. The 6230 has bluetooth which means that it's easy to get a car kit and you can actually get stuff on and off the phone (like photos and MP3's) without having to pay for a very expensive USB cable.
