Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Strange why he did that. Would it be something to do with dimebag?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

No EMGs either. Looks like Dimebags guitar without the trem and a different shape.

    Quite nice actually :)

Looks nicer in real life than the protoype drawing

Well I've been hearing that at recent BLS shows he plays his Razorback and the Rhoads copy for 80% of the show and his Bullseye for only a few songs.
So he could be leaving Gibson.
And yeah Dime gave him a few Deans awhile back and he said he likes em.

Jesus! That looks like a complete chop-shop guitar!

what an absolute monster of a guitar
No, that's not a guitar, that's an axe!

I would buy it without hesitation.

Then i'd flog it on ebay and get myself another Strat.

    ;)

It's Tony Iommi meets Randy Rhoads meets Darrel Abbott... the complete Metal guitarist ;)

If there was a big brother for guitars that would be the pre-op tranny thrown in stir it up a bit and upset the status quo - The one that's difficult to look at without making you feel a little uneasy and doesn't sound quite the way you think it should. All the same, most people seem to vote for the tranny anyway....

I think it's rotten looking. But then again, I'm a bassist - What would I know? Hmmm, looks like something a drummer would buy! :p

That is one of the most hideous guitars i have ever seen!

It's almost as if Dimebags sig guitar & an SG had sex, but then discovered their kid was autistic & aborted it.... but the abortion came to life!

Can't say I like it but I did see the Zakk Wylde PRS prototype. Sitting right beside the Vai prototype...

Love the pink PRS behind it :p

Look at the size of the heel on that thing. I just don't understand why they make them so awkward.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,361 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    I know!

Wonder will Vai play his PRS's at the Dublin gig...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

It might be Paul Crook's guitar (guy who played with Anthrax and now plays with Meatloaf) who plays PRS?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,361 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, Vai definately has a PRS anyway...

It's as ugly as his playing. I hate Wylde...

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,361 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Hey, good for you!

And I do believe he has one of everything alright. Just look at his website...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,896 ✭✭✭fish-head

Good gravy he has an awful lot of guitars... most of them are that crappy lookin' signature model he has. Gimme John Entwistle's collection anyday!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,647 ✭✭✭✭Mr. CooL ICE

I dont like the fins on it. I dont like that mix of pointiness and smoothness, but if it wasnt for the fins (and maybe the headstock) id say it was a great progression from his SG

How about not posting if you have no interest. What a novel concept.

It's one thing saying you couldn't care less if someone had a new guitar out but i don't think there is much point of ridding posts of people who have a different or opposite opinion to the rest.

just played a PRS mcartney in a shop in San Diego. First time i've played a PRS, and to be honest, im not blown away. They've built up a reputation on boards and im let down. Nice action etc but tone wise it was fairly ****e. That said, i also played a 72 thinline tele, so the competition was of a high standard....

    Don't like it.

It just looks like a bad mix of 2 guitars.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 202 ✭✭eyebrows

Jesus, when I first seen it I immediately thought "holy shít that guitar looks friggen class". bit surprised by the amount of people who hate it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,012 ✭✭✭BizzyC

Ah rob, you only like it cause you want zak's babies.:D
It just looks like they glued an SG and a V togethor.
I just don't think that they blended the V shape into the SG head well enough.
It's too sharp on one end, and round on the other.

What wrong with wanting his babies... I'd say they'd go well with a bit of toast and red sauce (yum yum)

Anyway "It's too sharp on one end, and round on the other"... what are ya on about too round on the other. That’s probably the last thing I thought I'd here someone say about this guitar. Round. Ha. Good one. Wouldn’t ya know you're a drummer

The curve of the SG shape just doesn't look well with the angle that the V is joining it.

    "Wouldn’t ya know you're a drummer"

What does that have to do with anything? Are you trying to imply something derogitory about drummers?

There's nothing wrong with drummers. Everyone knows that a drummer is a musicians best friend. ;)
