Best Editing software for handycam?

    I have a Sony MiniDV camcorder and it came with software called Picture Perfect of something. Besides the fact that this software is useless, i've discovered my cdrom drive is not supported so i can't burn straight to DVD. What is an alternative (not too expensive) editing software for the camcorder?? Thanks in advance...
