defining keys?

Delighted to get the demo but seem to have trouble defining my own keys. If I try to change the common keys I get the message that a duplicate key is already in use on common controls. Very frustrating as I'm used to a certain layout from BF1942 and BFV by now. Any ideas lads on how to get around this or am I missing…

find a conflicting key(a command which already has that key assisned that you want), change it to some key that is not used, and then go back and change the command you want to the key that is now free
