so what are the albums you just have to buy now - not what you would recommend!!!(plenty of those threads already,as a mod will prob say!)

you konw you just heard "a band" on tv/radio/net and now you MUST have the album,no buying off cdwow or play- this is pure indulgance - the album you gotta have ;)

These are the albums "YOU MUST HAVE NOW"!!!!!!

EDIT: basquille: changed the rules after you posted - feel free to update

    I'll pick 5:

Counting Crows - August And Everything After
    Radiohead - The Bends
    Radiohead - OK Computer
    Jeff Buckley - Grace
The Postal Service - Give Up

.. quite a diverse mix there.. enjoy!

PS - i already have all these albums. I thought of this thread as more of a recommendation for albums than anything else. Sorry if i misinterpreted it!

No.. as i said in the edit... these are all the albums i consider that you have to buy.

Kinda misread the title... thought it was a recommendation thread to other people!

The Postal Service album is fantastic! Nothing like The Thrills.... more like The Flaming Lips than anyone, i guess. But very unique.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,800 ✭✭✭voxpop

yeah its more of a "i've just heard this band and get the cd now" rather than a recommendations thread. Like a this is the newest goode album to me - everyone should have it !!! :) that sort of thing

    @postal service
heard some from the offical net stuff and they ( lead singer) shound like the thrills - if you think the flaming lips(legend), i will have them check out! :)

Top of my list would be Kid A which I haven't got round to yet.

Also I'd like to get the White Stripes new one. Also the Bravery's album I heard is pretty good.

The Postal Service, it's singer and everything to related to him bear absolutely no resemblence to anything remotely Thrills-like. Thank f*ck.

Hope of the States - 'The Lost Riots'

    oasis- definatly maybe
    nirvana - nevermind

I've very seldom had any thrills from the postal service! UPS turning up at the door, that's a different matter! :D

There's only so much banjo twanging one can stand and halfway through any of theirs is beyond the limit. Or a couple of seconds while you reach for the tuning preset button would be more realistic.

But I digress, I honestly haven't heard anything in the last few weeks that I HAVE to get NOW!

'Tis called Operation Mindcrime and is a highly overrated album imo. Major disappointment.

If you want 80's metal you should check out Dokken.
