Hows BF2 running for everyone?

Thank god, its running fine on my rig, so far, its running perfectly smooth @ 1024x768, texture, geometry, dynamice lighting and all that set to high (medium in maybe one case)

Might try increasing it later, seen how it goes. Was playing single player, so I can expect to up the settings more for online in any case, if increasing them in single brings no joy

Cool game. Not as amazing as I thought it would be though....felt more like a BF:V mod tbh for awhile, but maybe I've got to get more into it and up my settings :cool:

Anyway, can someone post what they can squeeze in it from their machines? Would be particularly interested in the lower end users, see how it works there?

Nerd on TMT working on a tweak guide, has doubled his FPS in less than 12 horus changing a lot of settings.

Shall post when its done.

Very interesting....I'd consider buying a fairly low end pc to play the game with 2 players, even if it was at lowest res (eg 2ghz, 512ram, gefx or something)

Currently, Im happy enough with how it plays on my current pc, but my ati card needs major upgrading....

Could someone maybe post their specs, its all well and good sayin its playin good but for all we know your machine is capable of launching a rocket into space.

Runs super smooth at 1042x768, most options set to high, so might try increase it later

I'm on 1024 with everything up its highest.

Running a 17inch widescreen laptop with a 6800 Ultra and wanna take full advantage..

Oops, I meant to say my ram needs major upgrading! Must have gotten mixed up without realising and written that....

It still needs updating though soon! Think Ill be going Nvidia next time...

It seems to be running on everyones PC....
EXCEPT MINE!!!!

no matter what i do it keeps freezing when i try to
play a game.

It just goes "starting server" then freezes.

It works fine on my room mates pc and his specs are pretty
similar to mine.

Specs:
XP 2600
1 gig 2700 ram
9700 pro
xp pro
loads of hardrive etc

Things i have tried so far:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the demo
Tried Catylist 5.1, 5.5 and 5.6 drivers
set agp from 8x to 4x
cant think/find anything else on google at the moment

*goes back to corner and cries*

512 ram

evreything on high bar textures which is on low (might up this and lower something else) but everything runnin smoothly enough, haven't looked at fps yet tho.

Running everything on high cept one setting,cant remember which but yields nice framerate.
Runs better than i expected but so far the game seems like poe with a paint job with some joint ops thrown in,nothing really special so far,maybe i need to give it more time.
I must say its silly the amount of registered shots it takes to kill a guy,i mean modern weaponry etc,nuff said.
I really want to love this demo ,ive been so looking forward to it.

Could it be the 2700 ram. Just a suggestion but maybe it would be dodgy? What speed is your mates ram? Anyone have any thoughts?

i went on a sniping rampage got 7 kills in a row MULTIKILL some guys took one shot to head or shoulder others needed 3, last guy got 4 but still nailed me.

I have 1.5gb of 2700 ram , issue he having others ahve resolved using diff drivers.

Running as smooth as a babys bottom on my:

P4 2.8
GiG RAM
9800pro
@Max res (1280x960)
All settings on medium (gonna change some of these later when I have time)
Turning AA on today, but have not tested it yet.

Running fantasically smooth, really needs some AA though.

Now that, that is resolved id like to get peoples opinions on Battlefield 2. It seems so far most people are disappointed, is this a safe assumption. Anyone out there like it?? Any new features people are liking??

Thanks KdjaC, downloading the 5.4 drivers now.
Have already tried the 5.1 omega drivers and they didn't help.

The RAM is pretty good OCZ ram so i think its ok.
My roommate has Twin mos 3200 ram.

Who the hell is disappointed? more than likely the uber fanboys who will never be happy anyway....this is the best game iv played in a good while the demo has stoped me playing gta sa i just bought yesterday it rules!

I'm not a fanboy at all, and its okay, but I am slightly disappointed. I expected alot more tbh, at this stage it feels more like a mod for Vietnam, but maybe the retail version will have some tricks up its sleeve.

Good, but it doesnt live up to the hype I think...

Haven't played vietnam in bout a year, last time i played a battlefield game. This game feels nothing like it at all, major improvements all round imho cept for people not dying easier.

Still not working.
It freezes when:

Attempt to select mulitplayer tab in main screen.
attempt to run single player game.
attempt to change profile

here is everything i have tried:
