I got one and all I can say is that I am less than satisfied with it. It's good but has a lot of bugs. If you have any specific questions you can ask me.

Have a look at this site http://www.my-blt.com/

CAn you provide a short list of problems you have had with the unit? I saw your thread re not connecting to the internet did you clear this up?

Hi, Yeah no haven't cleared this up yet although it's might be something I am doing wrong networking is not my thing.

In terms of probloms what annoys me most is the navagation the GUI is pretty bad.

When playing an mp3 over the network it doesn't buffer right so you get 4-5 seconds of static-like noise before it plays.

You can't navigate the mp3 lists while listening to a song so you have to wait until one is over before selecting another.

The remote randomly sends out signals and sometimes stops working.

    Etc.

Yeah i noticed your config sounds strange how come you dont just connect the BB into the switch? then connect the pc & BLT to the switch also? If its a static address you will have some config to do i.e. set the switches ip to be that of the BB provider & prob some port forwarding.

Im more interested in the BLT for video / pics. On that front how does it fare? (main question in this post) I recon they will get around the MP3 thing and a few other little things in a firmware update. And if they release the code in the future that would be cool to.

Bottom line for streaming video to my tv should i buy it? The alternatives dont seem as good.

    Cheers

Would a Hauppauge MVP combined with a wireless adapter be worth looking into as an alternative (at a similar price)?

By all accounts, you can run GB-PVR on the MVP and end up with an excellent front end.

(I use GB-PVR on a PC and am a big fan. I reckon I will get an MVP at some stage. Apparently, a wireless MVP has been anticipated for a while, but no confirmation yet)

the one major advantage it has is its ability to upscale dvd's which the buffalo will not do
