Darn, just saw this as I was getting ready to put up some more. Good spot Thanatosgratus about the site being down as I would have been trying to figure out what I had done wrong.:)

Seems to be a lot of irate photobucket users today as this "maintenance" has been extended by 12.5 hrs after it was meant to have been completed

90 Church Street, where Jed Chute and his wife Pauline live was built in 1939, which is not present on the right of the photo, so the picture was taken before 1939. Mid to late 1930's would be a good guess.

Footage of the river Feale at Listowel in Winter 1963 when the river was frozen solid. The video was shot by Listowel dancing master, Jimmy Hickey using a clockwork video camera and digitised in 2017 by Charlie Nolan.

When you say restore are you aiming to keep the character of the house or would it be more renovate to a straightforward dwelling. True restorations can be pricey

The house is in a bad state of repair and requires an extensive refurbishment including replacement roof, new kitchen, bathrooms, modifications internally, extension, construction of shed among other things

As regards builders my cousin had a house built by Derry Carroll in 2006, I was highly impressed with the finish and how easy it was to work with Derry. I had a chimney rebuilt about 6 months ago by Tom O'Connell Woodford, excellent job,he's a really good block layer and plasterer and I found him reasonable money wise. One guy around Listowel that would have a good knowledge of rebuilds and the builders that have done good work would be Des O'Sullivan Greenville,he's a claims assessor and operates as Insurance Wise, he's an approachable guy and might be a good idea to pick his brains.
