Just an idea that people could post up links to jap importers that bring cars into Ireland/UK. With the amount of people importing this could be very helpful and mike could possibly incorporate it into the knowledge?

    I know of..

    Linney.org
    HP Imports

Also if anyone has any advice?, I know of a few users of boards as well as myself who are considering importing from japan. Has anyone imported straight themselves?

    Cheers Farlz

Yup...I have...it's relatively painless to do. I'm just waiting on the VRT4 form so I can pay the vrt and tax and insure the car.

Here's another one that usually has loads of cars in stock: http://www.madcars.com/
Their website looks like its ****ed at the moment, so you may want to give them a ring.

Thanks for the tip. These guys seem to be pretty good value, I've written to them about shipping prices.
Is there anything else I need to be aware of when ordering from them? I have a strange feeling that a lot can go wrong when importing a car all the way from Japan :)

Not that I know of, but yes there is a lot that can go very very wrong.

Just looking a KBCCars website and I would have my doubts about some of the grading. Theres a wrx wagin there that they have graded 4 and it has a nice bit of damage on the rear qtr panel/door.

Theres another 1995 Impreza graded 5, which is unheard of for that year. I could be wrong but just from my experience of looking at auction grade sheets.

What kind of car are you after?

Yep, a grade 5 would be a brand new car.

Madden Cars linked above are a bunch of cowboys and Sean Byrne motors are even worse. Sean Byrne has had some cars on autotrader for the last 6 - 8 months that he has probably never had in stock at all, but if you give him a buzz about it he'll tell you its just been sold but he can get you in x, y and z in a few weeks.
Hes more like an import broker than an actually car dealer, half the time he seems to be reselling High Grade imports stock from up the road for a grand or two more

    Hi All,

I've just got our company registered on boards.ie. Should have done this ages ago, I just didn't realise there was so many people looking for import information and importers.

We are based in Waterford and have a small office and large yard in Japan. What we have been helping people with is importing excellent quality performance cars from Japan. We have great contacts and buy stock from tuning companies as well as main dealers. We also buy from specialist auctions. All the performance cars we have imported to date has impressed everyone because we will only bring in properly modified and exceptionally clean cars (not knackered cars that are at the end of their lives). Having an office their means that every car can be full inspected and tested by us.

We have excellent cars in stock and we also source cars to order. Drift car inquiries welcome. We have professionally built drift cars and ex show cars available from Japan directly. All cars coming from Japan will be with you and ready for collection in 5 weeks from order coonfirmation date. We also offer PERFORMANCE PARTS packages to bring your car to the next level and at prices you can afford not ones that will make you cry. HKS, BLITZ, APEXI, BUDDY CLUB, 5Zigen, FUJITA, RAYS and many many more.

We are currently displaying our stock on one of our websites, which is another one of our businesses:
    SIR DANIELS . COM (www.sirdaniels.com)

The A-Spec Imports website is currently being developed. Your gonna really like it because its going to look fantastic and its going to display cars in a way that allows you to view them properly, just like you were looking at them in person.

Oh and we offer excellent warranties to keep you covered.

I'd be delighted to talk with anyone about ideas they might have for their perfect performance car. Just give me a call, I'm Daniel (085-7352416) or drop me an e-mail daniel@sirdaniels.com. Always happy to help.

    Keep it between the ditches,

    Daniel :)
