Just imagine the badge said "Fiat" or "Daewoo" instead of "Mercedes". Would you still buy it? And if so, would you be willing to spend that kind of money on it ??

    :D

My opinion of them is that they are overpriced, horrible to drive and cramped.

Don't buy one for the sake of the Merc badge.

If you do want a car like this then look at the slightly cheaper alternative Audi A2 especially the 1.4 TDi version.

    thanks bazz26
i wouldnt have even thought of the A2 , but I think it might be a definite runner :)

The A2 is excellent! And because it's made from aluminium is economical to run & quite nippy

What do you need the car for Freewing? If it's a small runabout I'd go for the A2, but maybe not considering the engine size in the A Class, if it's a small - smallish prestige car why not look at the A3. Also, what kind of money are you looking to spend? I wouldn't advise getting an A Class, not alot of car for alot of money

Because of its all aluminim body the A2 is difficult and costly to repair, though ...should anything go wrong.

Only a few specialists can do a proper job on it ( it's no Landy that you just rivet together :D )

Don't know to which extent that is reflected in insurance prices ?

i do a 100 mile round trip commute daily. i need room for me ,her and two carseats . iwant a diesel for the fuel economy and the smaller engine the better cos of the road tax and insurance ,i will have up to 12 grand to spend and to top it all off i am 6ft 4ins so i need a bit of room. now what do you do with that?

Not one to usually reccomend French cars but how about a Scenic or Picasso, or even a Fiat Multipla, not many people here would reccomend a Fiat though, any car in that catergory

Jesus those A2's are horrible looking. But people must love them judging by the amount of them on the road. No, wait, there's only 6 of them registered in Ireland.

Lol, being sarcastic, are we? I like the looks of the A2, but feel it is ludicrously overpriced

I'm not a fan of these type of cars either but would see it as a better alternative to the Merc A-Class. And very true these type of cars are ridiculously overpriced like most things in this country. :(

So do I! I think it's classy looking especially compared to that tacky A-class

I saw the new A Class yesterday and I thought it was quite nice looking.
