Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Two Wombs - Any Information???

    Hi Folks,

First off, I'm not looking for medical advice, just some information. A friend of mine has been told by her doctor that she has two wombs. I said I'd try and find out some information for her, but I've found it really difficult to find any information on the net about this. Mainly I suppose because I don't know the name of the actual condition.
Has anyone heard of this before? Apparantly it affects about 1 in 1000 women. Does anyone know the name of the condition or have any links I could garner any information from?

    Many thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Liam

the name of this condition is UTERUS DIDELPHYS.
it is a frequently occurring condition, but goes unnoticed in many women.
actually, i read an article in the med journal recently where a woman with the condition successfully gave birth to two healthy babies from two separate wombs two months apart. that puts a sock in it for anyone that says its not possible for a woman to give birth to two children with a gap of less than nine months between them.

type the name of the condition above into your browser and you'll get a huge amount of information. here's one to get you started exploring...

Thanks for the help so far folks, in particular yourself Derek. This is all new to me, and not being a woman, I'm not overly familiar with all the 'parts' and what should be right and what isn't.
As far as I'm aware, she has two wombs, but doesn't have two cervix's and vagina's. If that's the case, is it still uterus didelphys??? From what I read, if you have that condition you have two cervix's and vaginas.

I know she needs to consult a doctor for proper advice and information, and that will be done in due course, but for the moment it's not conveiniant, and she's just looking for some information in the meantime.

    Regards,
    Liam
