Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its Funny with most clubs in dublin back then, they all start off being Great Clubs for the First year or two then turn out to be kips?

MMMMM i would have to disagree with you partly there......i had gone to SIDES a good few times after the OLYMPIC around 1993 & then regularly after the WATERFRONT closed till it ended & it was great the whole time......& the ASYLUM never lost any appeal but grew better & better every time.......i would agree about the OLYMPIC & the ORMOND but not the ASYLUM, WATERFRONT or SIDES:)

Sides definitely turned into a kip in the latter years, and the Asylum was always a kip, although I think that was part of the Asylum's appeal.

Very TRUE!! I went to the Asylum very week for the first few mounts when it opened and it was a super club in many ways!! but turned out to be a right dump!

I must have been looking for somthing different in a RAVE than most people here then cause it wasnt the cleanliness or clientelle i was interested in.....i refer you to a prevoius post i made in relation to the set up of the ASYLUM & how it is perceived;):D

Sure at the end of The Asylums life I can remember leaning against a door on the bottom floor and looked in only to see a mop in a mop bucket and a load of other crap:eek:
lads was 'Corona - The Rhythm Of The Night' a big tune in the Oylmpic as i cant remember? i think it was, it just sounds a bit cheesy now but was a big tune with the ladies..

No it wasnt as far as I'm concerned. I remember being locked drunk dancin to it in a night club in Galway around 96:eek:

I can remember being upstairs on the top floor at around 4-5 am one night & as you headed towards the back stairs where the arched windows were there was a door to a small room to your right & when you went in to it it had a light switch on the wall with a light bulb with no shade in the celing & was about the size of the small bedroom in your gaff.......used it many a time after that to get Skins together or when splitting;) somthing or opening somthing;)

    Yeah knew that one;)

Another night in The Asylum you know when you go exploring and you end up in some mad place. Me and my mate ended up on the 3rd floor whilst looking for a cushy spot to roll a duber. We opened a door and there was a steep stair case leading down to an EMERGENCY EXITS (same as above). As we opened the door there was about three blokes there, one of them was giving it loads. We got past them and sat on a step. All we wanted to do then was to get out of dodge asap. There was no DJ that night on the 3rd, so why was the bloke behind me dancing like a mad thing. And why did he have a monkey hat pulled down over his face with a pair of shades on because they were smokin gear but we didn't cop it at first.
They were talkin sh1te to us. We just thought we were trapped, this was a scrap or a muggin by needles or something, we got the fu*k outta there, that was ugly!!!!!!!!!

Now i know this is like splitting hairs cause its a great mix of tunes that does reflect the OLYMPIC buzz a lot but i definetly never heard Poltergeist played in the OLYMPIC......maybe it was when we were buzzing in the ASYLUM anyone still going to the OLYMPIC at that time know if it was?????

It was sprinkled with a lot of Dust (Pink Champagne) & lets not forget seriously good Ecsatsy that lasted for at least 12 hours into the next day which added to the brilliant buzz in the place.......

Heres another old post relating to the OLYMPIC buzz......;)

All this talk aboot the olympic makes me feel the need to voice my opinion.
I honestly can't remember exactly when I started going, it was sometime
in 1992 through to when it first clossed it's doors. When it reopened it was never the same in my opinion as the crowed changed, I remember my younger bro started goinng then, I went in afew times myself when it reopened but never felt the same buz, so I left the seen altogether except for a few nights out in the ormond, anyone ever go to marleys its the 3 rock now what a kip that was music and all. I could never enjoy myself in the average clubs after the olympic experience:confused:

Poltergeist Vicious Circles was definatley played in The Olympic because I remember me and one of my mates heard it first one week in The Olympic and then the next week in The Asylum, 100%;)

When all the clubs were closed a few of us went to 'Marleys' in the Three Rock at the back of Rathfarnham. It was a deadly spot with excellent sounds and Pink Mad Bastards were the order of the day. One night I seen the stumpy Buzzer collecting glasses while working as bar staff I couldn't believe it. There was actually a fair few bodies from the Olympic who went up there.

We used to always end up back at parties in the arsehole of nowhere (relative to where we lived) and would have no money to get home the next day. One time we blagged a lift off some guy who just happened to pass by in a little minibus. God only knows what we must've looked like and why he agreed to it!! There was at least 10 of us!

The track you're looking for is "Are You Willing To Testify?"
It's the first track on the B-Side
