I remember an oldskool gig a few years back that Pressure was headlining & he started playing all this new hard techno sh!t that nobody in the crowd was into. Must have been about 3 people (if even) on the dancefloor while he was playing. Senan who already did a warm set had to take over from him & he played a excellent old skool hard trance set & managed to save the rest of the night. Pressure sat down for the rest of the night with a big sulky face on him.

So don't be fooled by big name DJ's with big reputations people, it's what ruined the rave culture in the first place.

DJ ED CASE - Live at The Ormond Multimedia Center (17/08/96)

I promised ED sometime back I'd put this up, still, better late than never. - I didnt have much audio or footage with a 'consistant' flow to work off, so I stretched what I had. - Again, most of the Children of the Night (AKA, the Children of the Revolution) will have seen the full video of the Ormond Nights so this for the 'Facebookers' & 'Twitterists' -

Have a good1 the weekend Ladies and Gents, Thumbs Up if you like it. :)

You can buy T-Shirts from Sunday 26th of june.

    http://asylumdublin.com/#/asylum-store/4550569011

Just want to give another little rant here, that site & the t-shirts is a load of Pox!!! You can get "an exclusive Asylum T-Shirt, Hoddie or Sweat Top" according to the site, but sure anyone & their son can buy one so what makes them exclusive, now i have to say fair balls to the initiative to put it all together & make a few quid, but there is making a few & outright ripping people off.

No price on the tshirts etc but the poster is €24.99 + €2.50 P&P!!!!!

Here, i'll tell ya, they are probably being produced at a cost of about, tops, €4, and that is absolute tops.

I await to see what price they put on a tshirt the gangsters.

Also the line in the reply from the promoters that paddy received,

"Asylum is back as a clubbing brand and it is along term project in which we will be working with the people to give them value."

Man that could have been taken directly from the sales marketing handbook from any firm, really not in touch with the feeling & epiphany the ASYLUM impressed on to us all if they are saying 'clubbing brand' in reference to the most underground rave that may have ever been open anywhere, i said it before about something i read years back but can never find the source again, carl cox said in an interview that,

"The ASYLUM was the best underground rave experience he ever had"

    Clubbing brand my bollox!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard as **** full on lawless all night Rave is what it was.

Yep, they are ripping the heart & soul out of it & turning it into a commercial enterprise.

your 100% right man i posted that i thought it was too expensive on one of the Asylum facebook pages and most people just said "stop moaning" some people agreed but said " ah sure it's a one off" typical Irish response if people actually voted with their feet then they would get the message, it's not even a "one off" there having another one in Sept and god knows how many after that!!!

I'll say no more as i don't want to put a dampner on things i realise people are looking forward to this but they really should be ashamed with themselves and are solely out to make €€€€€€€€€ and nothing else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,344 ✭✭✭Is mise le key

Sure we haggled the rpice with the bouncers on the door of the ASYLUM every time & sometimes got in for as little as a fiver, i will give them creds for the initiative but they will only redeem themselves in the future if the price is much lower than this one.

€25 for a poster!!!!!......over 400% more than the production cost.

Can't wait for Saturday folks :D:D:D

It will be Interesting to see what makes this night different to any other Oldskool gig. -
I think you will see on the night that it's not a cheap oldskool gig, this is a professional production with some many little touches that other nights just do not offer.

    Another Quote from the Organizers
We are not in this to make a quick buck and milk some money. Asylum is back as a clubbing brand and it is a long term project in which we will be working with the people to give them value.

I think it's a bit premature to blast the Organizers even before the first gig!
Like everything - time will tell! they should at least be given a chance FFS.

really they could've fooled me charging the prices they are, why could they not limited the amount of DJ's playing and charge a tenner in or maybe 12 on the door not bleedin €21.90 advance ticket:confused: and what's all this "clubbing brand" nonsense, have a reunion once a year tops, another one in September is too close, and don't even get me started on the €25 posters and t-shirts:eek:

was just flickin thru another site i'm a member of and this was posted in the world news section. apparently russian heroin addicts are substituting a cocktail of gasoline, hydrochloric acid, red phosphorous from match boxes along with other toxic materials they're callin 'crocodile' for the heroin they crave but either (for some reason) can't obtain or afford.
just hope this doesn't make an appearance on the streets of ireland because its effects on the body are gruesome to say the least. we have enough scummy drugs on our streets without this sh1t, they look like zombies, literally rotting.
just a word of warning, if you have a weak stomach don't look at the pictures in this news report.

While i'm not ruling out that there could be such a drug out there, I think this report is a 'croc' of sh!t. The listed chemicals makes you wonder could someone actual inject that into the bloodstream and survive let alone just rot.
But the thing that has me sceptical about this report is the use of a picture of a girl (striped dress) who died of an overdose about 6 years ago, I remember the story & pictures of her in the papers at the time. She was actually found keeled over on her knees facedown in the feotal position, when they rolled her over she still had the turnque & needle in her arm, her family were a middle class family and insisted on the pictures been used to highlight the plight of drug addiction.

Hold Press!!! .......I've just found this ....
    http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13654246

    http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2078355,00.html?xid=rss-fullworld-yahoo

so seems like the 'ingredients' can be ingested/injected without fatality .... you'd want to be some fookin sad case altogether to be willing to try it! Either way the pic used is not of a 'crocodile' victim.

Still, the conspiracy theorist in me is screaming 'Poppyganda' :D

Here's more on the use of the pictures in that dodgy report

The girl in the picture is Rachel Whitear from the UK,she died of a heroin overdose in 2002

Whatever about the cost of the night, line up and set times etc, I do have to laugh at the concept of Asylum t-shirts and posters - how far removed from an underground rave from the early 90s can you get!

We could create a whole range of Dublin t-shirts from clubs and raves from that period, brand it up as 'Rave to the grave'...

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,234 ✭✭✭Billy Mays

What are the chances they'll have a stand selling t shirts hoping to cash in on people too ouvit to think straight?? I'm sure there'll be one or two punters the next day saying to themselvevs "I can't believe I spent 25 euro on a fruit of the loom t-shirt!!!!!".
