That may infact be, the most ridiculous thing i have ever read.

I've never heard that phrase before

    Ya, me either.

But seriously 7thSeal, you should be taking life more seriously for these years of your life and then relax (or fool around and go nuts) when you can afford to.

I don't want to leave school
I'm not ready to go out into the real world yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

Yeah, but you can't run away from it. You're just wasting time imo.
Then again, 'tis none of my business.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    The way I see it
    If I enjoy myself
    It's not wasted time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

I know. I follow your point of view but I think that although you enjoy yourself, in the long run the time spent repeating will end up meaning nothing when you might already be out living life.

Who cares about the long run
You need to live in the here and now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

You wont say that in the future tho..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

But wouldn't you like the here and now to mean something?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    It means I'm happy
I'll worry about the future when it's the present

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

This may seem like a weird question but do you have any dreams for the future? Anything in any way significant that you would like to accomplish.

You needn't answer if you do not wish.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    No dreams
    I'm awake

Then why not jump off a cliff? That would be enjoyable and it would speed up the process.

NOTE: Do not take this too seriously.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    Speed up what process?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

The process of the present which shall someday inevitably come to an end.

    LIFE!

Your gonna have to leave school eventually, your just hiding from your future at the moment. As a wise man once posted
Theres no standing still in this life, if your not going forwards your going backwards

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

I'm just going forward in a different direction

Do you not feel that life will become very repetitive if you don't progress.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    I can still progress
If anything doing the repeat leaving cert is doing something extra

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

No, it's doing the same thing twice. Repeating.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

But I have to do it somewhere new

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,745 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

    what age are you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

So. It wont mean anything. It's not really progressing. Same plot, different setting, doesn't make a different movie.

(Like the sig btw. Coincidentally, that album is sitting in front of me right now)

    Different coarses too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

Aww. Why do you keep changing ya sig?

On topic: I agree that you were kinda fcuked out of it with your subjects that were chosen for you. You should have taken action against that quicker, though, when you had a chance to change things.

    Meh
    I like a challenge

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

How is it a challenge if you don't work?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    I work the night before
I want to see how well I can do with only night before study

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

    That's bull**** my friend.

You shouldn't lie to yourself, it's not healthy.

You basically wasted 2/3 years of your life working (or not) at subjects that you don't enjoy. And you say you don't work 'til the night before so that you can see what happens.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    I didn't waste 2/3 of my life
    I had a great time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

    2/3 years.

Yeah sure, you had a good time. But now you're just going to end up repeating it and you'll have accomplished nothing.

    Even this conversation is repetitive.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    Who cares
As long as you have a good time
    That's all that matters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

But you can't afford to simply ignore the future. It will lead to greater problems and unhappiness in life.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

I'll deal with that when it comes
    It's only a year anyway
    What's the big fcuking deal

Listen, I'm too tired to continue. Just consider the thought that if you don't keep up with the world around you, you will either

    a) suffer from loss of friends etc who move on into life whilst you linger and experience nothing.

    or

    b) Grow to know much and many people but nothing will mean anything because all will become part of a constant stream of change in which you are the stone that does not move.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

Wouldn't the same result from going on to collage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,745 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

you are going to be stuck in the same place doing the same thing all your life if you dont move on. dont you want to get out and get on with life?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

No, then you would be the twig that moves with the stream.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

But your friends will move on to different things

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,496 ✭✭✭*Angel*

Guys this is an interesting conversation

ah buckie! would`nt mind a swig of it now. The pure bliss afterwards and the sweet taste, mmm. However I`ve got Accounting and Economics left so I`ll think I`ll give it a miss.

Despite being a buckie drinker I have to agree with kawaii, all your mates will be moving on with their lives in college while your stuck in the same place. I think it would be rather depressing to be honest. Live life to the full, hear and now, but man do`nt throw it all away (probably to late now)

Yes, but you will be moving at pace with life and with other people who are following a similar life to yours.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    Same with repeating

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

No, then you are not moving at pace with life and you end up getting left behind.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 208 ✭✭7thSeal

    But doing the repeat coarse
You'd be in a class moving at your pace
They would all be repeating too
