    has anyone had any experience on how long the council takes after you have found a property to close the house ???

    Was just about to post about this...the information on shared ownership is really scant!

    Do you still need to have an 8% deposit?
    What is the breakdown, for instance, if you get a 200k house and you have a mortgage for 40% of that, roughly how much are you paying to the council each month?

    Who looks after repairs on the house, is it split between you and the council?

    Do you have to hold on to the house for X amount of years before selling?

    And are you allowed rent out a room in the house?

    Both are great if you plan to hold on to the house for the next 20 years and earn under 36800 but if you plan to sell after a few years there really isn't much point.
